One worker killed and another injured in a tragic industrial accident Wednesday, December 5th 2012 in Lower Providence Township, Montgomery County PA.  According to philly.com, one worker was killed after falling into a 100-foot aqua colored tower while performing maintenance, while another worker suffered injuries after falling half way through the tank.  After three house and several fire companies, the surviving man, who was wearing a work harness, was rescued.

“There had been some type of malfunction with the industrial equipment,” said Lower Providence Township Fire Chief Bryan McFarlarn, “and we did have one victim that was approximately 40 to 60 feet in the air inside on an 80-foot water tower.”  The disastrous incident is being investigated by the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration to find out if the equipment did malfunction.  If so,  Corrosion Control Corp, the workers’ employer, could be held liable for the death and injuries that occurred.
