Shawn M. Dethlefsen, Associate
Shawn M. Dethlefsen, an associate with Pearson Koutcher, LLP, has focused her practice on Pennsylvania Workers’ Compensation for two decades and has been exclusively protecting the rights of injured workers for 14 years. Born and raised in New Jersey, Shawn attended Widener University where she majored in Business Administration and Human Resources. She graduated from Widener University School of Law in 1991 and began her practice defending insurance companies, self-insured companies and third party administrators, successfully achieving defense verdicts in jury and bench trials.
Shawn has lectured in the area of Pennsylvania Workers’ Compensation and written materials for numerous workers’ compensation seminars. Her comprehensive knowledge of the PA Workers Compensation Act, and her experience litigating for both claimants and defendants, has enabled her to an effective advocate for injured workers. Her positive attitude and strong work ethic helps put her clients at ease as she guides them through the legal process. Admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, Shawn is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, Philadelphia Bar Association, Northampton County Bar Association and Lehigh County Bar Association. Additionally, Shawn is an Assistant Solicitor for Northampton County and an Assistant Solicitor for the City of Allentown.
Shawn lives in the Lehigh Valley with her husband, a lifelong resident of Easton, their son Reid (5) and twin daughters, Chloe and Isabelle (4). When she is not working, Shawn enjoys spending time with her family attending dance recitals, gymnastic events, and soccer and t-ball games. Very active in her community, Shawn especially enjoys being a volunteer at the Easton Farmers’ Market, the oldest, continuous open-air farmers market in the country.
