I began working in Pennsylvania workers’ compensation in March of 2015. I started off as a bilingual legal assistant (hablo español), was promoted to medical coordinator, and eventually a paralegal (my current position) for a busy workers’ compensation lawyer at Pearson Koutcher Law, a workers comp law firms Philadelphia. Working in this field has been extremely rewarding. The different positions I have held have given me the experience and tools I need to help my clients through the workers’ compensation process from beginning to end as efficiently as possible. Throughout the years, I have also developed many work relationships that ultimately benefit the firm and most importantly our clients.
What I enjoy the most about my job is ensuring that injured workers get the wage loss and medical benefits they are entitled to. For most people, workers’ compensation is something they have never dealt with or maybe even heard of. We are here to help navigate the process and make it as easy as possible. Here at Pearson Koutcher Law, workers’ comp is all we do. I am confident that both the attorneys and staff here have the knowledge and desire to help you win your case. We genuinely care and are more than happy and willing to assist.
There’s a quote that goes, “Helping one person might not change the world, but it could change the world for one person.” ~Anonymous That is the perspective I come from when interacting with our clients. At the same time, I need you to help me. We are a team. Be sure to let me or your attorney know if you receive any information related to your case. I understand your injury not only affects you, but your entire family. I want to do my best to get you what you deserve because your family and friends need you. Your stories remind me every day to count my blessings.
Throughout the workers’ comp process make sure to communicate with your attorney and his or her staff when you receive any paperwork of any kind regarding your case, whether it is by mail, email, text, etc. This goes along with any phone calls from your doctor, employer, insurance company, etc. From solely a staff perspective, looping me in on any and all communication regarding your work injury will make getting you what you need easier. Plus, you never want to sign anything without your attorney reviewing it first. Also, make sure to communicate anything related to your medical treatment including the names of your doctors, the number of times you visit your doctor, and the treatment plan your doctors subscribe. Medical treatment is extremely important in a workers’ compensation case. Your lawyer also needs to know about your work status. Has your employer contacted you? This is important because once you have an attorney, you no longer need to communicate with your employer, but your employer may still try and reach out to you. My point is that communication is important and here at Pearson Koutcher, one of the workers comp law firms Philadelphia, your attorney is only a cellphone call or text away.
Navigating through a work injury will not always be easy, but our attorneys love their job and will do their best to make it as pleasant for you as possible. Working alongside attorneys who excel at their job and love what they do only motivates me to work harder. We will make sure your work-related injury or disease does not define your everyday life. In conclusion, I really enjoy working here at Pearson Koutcher. For any current and future clients, know that I am here for you every step of the way along with great attorneys and staff. I am here to remind you that we will do our best to make things always work out.
