Philadelphia Workers’ Compensation attorney Jonathan Koutcher, of Pearson Koutcher Law, represented a laborer who worked at a large university in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The injured worker fell off a ladder and sustained wrist injuries requiring surgery. The injured worker began receiving Workers’ Compensation wage loss benefits. In a somewhat complicated fact pattern, the Workers’ Compensation insurance company relied upon an opinion from a prior case indicating the injured worker’s wrist injury fully resolved. The Workers’ Compensation insurance company then filed a Petition to Terminate the injured worker’s benefits. Mr. Koutcher defended the interests of the injured worker by presenting testimony from the injured worker’s treating orthopedic hand surgeon. Prior to the Judge issuing a decision, the parties were able to settle the case for a lump sum of $100,000.
