An injured worker from Philadelphia was represented by Philadelphia workers’ compensation lawyer Jonathan Koutcher, of Pearson Koutcher Law. Mr. Koutcher is certified as a specialist in workers’ compensation by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. The injured worker fell hurting his shoulder and knee. The workers’ compensation insurance carrier temporarily paid the injured worker wage loss benefits. However, after the injured worker was evaluated during an independent medical examination, the injured worker’s benefits were stopped. Mr. Koutcher filed several petitions on behalf of the injured worker including a Claim Petition. Mr. Koutcher fought to have the injured worker’s injuries to his shoulder and knee accepted as work-related; in addition, the injured worker developed carpal tunnel syndrome while performing his meat-cutter duties on a repetitive basis over four decades. Mr. Koutcher obtained testimony from the injured worker’s family physician and also his treating orthopedic surgeon. Following a mediation, the case settled for $92,000 and in addition, the injured worker is able to continue treating for his work injuries as his medical benefits were left open following the settlement.
